The international conference “The Days of Spring” invites designers and project representatives from across the Triennale program to exchange ideas and experiences on the various dimensions of its diverse themes. National and international designers – from Brazil to Peru, and from Switzerland to China – will present their lives and experiences, revealing how their projects and methods reflect both a situated design practice and a bioregional, respectful and context-conscious approach. 

In this two-day conference, the themes of the Triennale are explored through the voices of those who put them into practice every day as part of their work. Visions and processes are shared, in an exchange of knowledge that crosses regions, geographies and scales. The conference programme includes the participation of designers and other professionals directly linked to the International Exhibition and the Saber Fazer Portugal National Programme exhibition, as well as invited designer Vivien Tauchmann, the designers taking part in the factory residencies, and the organizers and tutors of the DAE x LINA Spring School, which takes place between 7 and 11 April at the University of Beira Interior (UBI).

Through the testimonies and conversations that will take place on the stage of the Teatro Municipal da Covilhã, this conference shows how design is at a moment of transformation and redefinition, with significant consequences for all those who work in it, but also for the contexts – social, economic, natural, cultural – that define this activity today.
